La Barre workout class
La Barre workout class is a modern version of classical ballet training. A 45-minute workout designed to shape and tone postural muscles, build core strength and allow you to escape the everyday. Incorporating classic ballet positions, with modern music, La Barre is a combination of cardio and strength with high reps of small range-of-motion movements and very light weights. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles). By doing barre workout regularly, you will also notice a remarkable improvement in your core strength and posture.
The class starts with a warm-up where we prepare the body for the coming workout after the training is happening next to the barre in several positions, working through all the body parts, by using only our body weight and the end of the class we cool down by a nice deep stretch.
As a professional dancer with many years of classical ballet and modern dance education / experience and lately intensive workout in the gym, I believe I can give a good La barre class incorporating all the knowledge I have.
